Reading Rocks

Summertime and the living is easy. Not sure if the fish are jumping or how high the cotton is but what we do know is it is a scorcher! Phewee!

Yes sirree the summer has arrived, just in time for the Olympics and it seems to be holding out for the flurry of late summer festivals. No soggy nights in tents this year then, whether you’re camping or doing it style with glamping (glamorous camping darling).

Locally we have a generous smattering of festivals right on our doorstep. Henley Rewind Festival is on this weekend with 80’s superstars including The Bangles, Rick Astley, Adam Ant, T’Pau, Marc Almond, Five Star (yes, really!), OMD and Tony Hadley gracing the stage.

If you fancy getting into the groove and celebrating all things 80’s this weekend – the good, the bad and the sequined – leave your fears at the door and enjoy the ride back to the future!

How about this little number to ease you in? Now, this is how to get the festival started! Perfect for ra-ra’ing to the latest summer sounds of Kool And The Gang.
All that glitters: Dress £22, Bag £12, Shoes £12
If the dress is a little understated for your tastes and you wanna revvvv it up to the max how about this jumpsuit. No 80’s girl would ordain to step out un-coordinated so it’s vital to pick a colour to follow through to full matching accessories – just check out those cute sunnies! It’s a beautiful sight!

Jump to it: Jumpsuit £18, Bag £12, Sunglasses £3, Shoes £14
Next weekend sees the Reading Festival’s 51st year and sees Foo Fighters, Kasabian and The Cure headlining. In 1961 (Wikipedia tells us) it was originally the National Jazz Festival and through the years has gone through a series of guises to become the legendary home of Rock and Indie. What better way to get the Reading vibe than to rock your own vintage festival style and giving an Indie nod to the 90’s. Army pants with essential big pockets: check, denim: check, easy-t: check, sunnies and hat: check.

Rebel yell: Hat £10, Sunglasses £3, Shirt £12, T-shirt £8, Trousers £10
Fancy shaking the festival feel to its Woodstock roots and running free like a child of the forest? Then pop your bottle opener in your patchwork bag, keep the tassels out of the flames and skip on down knowing you’re keeping it real in full alternative tie-dye glory.

Hippy Trip: Dress £12, Sunglasses £3, Suede Gillet £16, Bag £14
May your summer be fabulous (just watch out for the jumping fish).

Love Frock&Roll
